Write for WebbleYou

A New Blog Site
WebbleYou is a new blog site I just discovered about 2 weeks ago. They pay blog authors 70% of any revenue generated from their blog. Revenue can be generated in a couple of ways: from Google AdSense ads that are placed on your blog or from targeted ads that WebbleYou sells to third parties which are placed on your blog. You can also setup Amazon affiliate links to books of interest that are related to your blog and you will retain any revenue generated this way.
Looking for Writers
WebbleYou is looking for writer's to write for existing blogs and to suggest topics for new blogs. The benefit in writing for an existing blog is that they already have recognition on Google and will have a higher page rank than a newer blog. A higher page rank generally means higher ad revenue.
Suggest a Blog
I wasn't interested in sharing ad revenue with other writer's so instead of applying to write for an existing blog I suggested a new topic for my own blog. My Bike Diva blog went live on WebbleYou earlier today. It's still so new that my banner logo hasn't even been added to my site yet.
Generating Revenue
WebbleYou says it can take up to a month before you may start earning any income. It usually takes at least a month for Google to recognize your site so before this time your Google AdSense ads might not be related to what you are blogging about. You also have to have your site established for awhile before WebbleYou will start to look for companies that they think will be interested in purchasing ads to be placed on your blog.
WebbleYou pays you through Paypal but unlike having to wait until you accumulate $100 in AdSense revenue to be paid by Google, WebbleYou will pay you as soon as you start generating income.
So, it's still too early to tell what kind of income, if any, I will make on WebbleYou. But I thought it would be interesting to see how it compared to other blog sites such as Orble.com. It sounds like there is potential to earn more on WebbleYou than on Orble so I'll keep you updated in the coming months.
Word Press
The WebbleYou blogs use the Word Press software. I am brand new to this program but WebbleYou has their site setup so you don't really have to know how to use Word Press. But if you know or take the time to learn Word Press I'm sure you could customize your blog with all kinds of bells and whistles.
Blog Network
WebbleYou only has 30 blogs in its network so far. So unlike Orble, you aren't going to have a lot of readers coming in from the other blogs. So you are going to have to spend a lot more time advertising/linking your site to other sites in order to find readers. But if you have an idea for a really hot topic it could do quite well. Their Caffeist blog already has a Google page rank of 4!

Being a freelance writer I wanted to see if having a blog on WebbleYou will have any advantages to having a blog on Orble. I have 3 blogs on Orble and am very pleased with how they are doing. But one of my blogs is Freelance Online Work so I am always researching other opportunities.
On WebbleYou you get 70% of any AdSense advertising income that YOUR blog earns. I have my own blog - Bike Diva - on WebbleYou. No one else writes for that blog so I don't have to share the income with anyone else. Other blogs, such as their Caffeist blog, have multiple authors so I don't know how they could keep track of who is earning money on that blog. But I guess they have some way of figuring it out.
My Bike Diva blog is brand new so I don't know what kind of income it's going to start generating. And WebbleYou is a tiny site compared to Orble so it could take quite some time to start attracting readers.
There are a number of ways my site will eventually start earning income:
1. 70% of AdSense revenue - with Orble you get 100%. But WebbleYou pays you your AdSense revenue whenever you request it. You don't have to wait until you reach $100 in AdSense revenue to get paid.
2. LinkShare revenue from biking stores - Justin from WebbleYou emailed me to ask if I was interested in setting this up for Bike Diva. He emailed the names of two biking vendors that participate in the LinkShare program.
3. Amazon affiliate income from links to biking books/merchandise - after I set up my Bike Diva blog I was going through all the help pages, etc... Somewhere in there it says you can add Amazon affiliate links to your pages. I haven't added any to my site yet - that's on my list of things to do.
4. Ads sold to bike vendors - this won't happen for a long time. I think you have to have an Alexa page rank of 3 or more before outside advertisers would even be interested in advertising on your site.
So right now I'm not making any $$. But I think if I'm patient the site will really take off. I belong to a number of bike clubs and online bike forums so I'm telling everyone I see about my new biking blog.
And I'm thinking about printing out business cards for the Bike Diva blog. So anytime I'm out in public at local bike stores or riding my mountain or road bike I can hand out the card to my bike addicted friends.
I'll keep you posted on how my blog is doing on WebbleYou.
Take care,
Lynn

They have a nice setup, and Wordpress is a great platform, so I'm really interested in its possibilities. I have a Blogspot blog that I could spin off from, for a different slant, and then they could boost each other. My fingers are crossed.

Yes, please keep me posted on all you blogs! I just set up a blog with Blogspot a couple of days ago. I want to see how their blogging platform compares to Orble and WebbleYou: here's a link to that blog Herbal Apothecary .
I just got a one page email from WebbleYou a couple of minutes ago. They are planning on doing a major upgrade to the site. Adding more bells and whistles and adding Google Analytic Stats so their writers can look up their traffic/stat/ad info. whenever they want.
The email also says their multi author blogs make more $$ than single author blogs. So even though you have to share ad revenue with other authors, you should still make more $$.
I had a specific vision for my Bike Diva blog - partially using it as a way to make myself look like a expert in my field. So I wanted to be the sole author for that site.
Take care,
Lynn
